BIOGRAPHY

James holds a PhD from the University of St Andrews, as well as Bachelors and Masters degrees in Vocal Studies from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has worked as a choral director with the Alexander Gibson Opera Studio, National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and other choirs around the UK.
He has presented research internationally, and worked extensively with MUSIQUE, the European Union Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Music Education, as well as the Quality Assurance Agency for Scotland.
As a singer, James is in demand as an oratorio soloist, working with choirs throughout the UK. He is also a vocal technican, working specifically with changing adolescent voices. He has delivered programmes on vocal technique with the Princes Teaching Institute, London Youth Choir, Finchley Children's Music Group, and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
James is a passionate educator, currently working towards a PGCE with Teach First at All Saints Catholic College where he is Director of Performance.
